Outdoor Ed Update

We are off to a great start, with around 25% of the needed funds already raised, mostly from parent donations, but also thanks to School Fundraisers such as Candy Leis, Emergency Kits, and Water Sales. To raise all of the money by March, we need to collectively raise about $6,000/month (including parent donations).

“What Can I Do to Help?”
1. Give the Gift of Outdoor Ed this Holiday Season!
Anytime is a good time to stop in the office and make a full or partial donation, but why not make this holiday truly memorable with the gift of a trip your child will never forget? Do you have relatives or friends asking what they might get your child for a present? How about suggesting a contribution toward their Outdoor Ed experience?

2. Grab a friend and help with the upcoming Fundraisers (promote via social media, volunteer as a cashier, be a point of contact, etc.):
Nov – Vendor Boutique Bake Sale on 11/29
Dec – Candy Grams
Jan – Wooden Roses
Feb – See’s Candy

Every child that wants to go to Outdoor Ed can go, provided the entire 5th grade can raise enough money. The trip costs approximately $400 per student. The majority of money raised comes from voluntary parent contributions, either paid in full or in installments.

Contributions can be made in the school office from 7:45am-3:30pm on school days, or send a check to school with your child (checks payable to “Sequoia Elementary); please put checks in an envelope labeled with your child’s name, teacher, and “Outdoor Ed.”

Thank you so much! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Teresa Healy (phone 858-602-2610) anytime. Mrs. Ricard is also ready to answer any detailed questions about medical and dietary concerns. Outdoor Ed is an amazing educational and developmental opportunity for our students, and it is truly designed for All Kids!
