Holiday Outreach / Donation Drive

As most of you have heard, this year we have been unable to coordinate with the District to support the Adopt-a-Family program as we have in the past. However, we still want to encourage members of our Sequoia Community to help those less fortunate this holiday season, something we feel is an expression of who we are as a school and also a  wonderful lesson for our children.

With the recent fires in Butte County, there are many families that are still homeless and in need of our help! We have identified two organizations that are working hard to help those families in need, and we want to invite our Sequoia community to participate. Please remember that any contribution will make a difference to those families who are struggling as a result of the devastation. If you are interested and able to help, we encourage you to support these organizations:

  1. Rotary Helping Students Rebound:

Local Rotarian Allen Mueller and the Danville Rotary Club have launched a Go Fund Me page, with donations going to the Durham Rotary Club in Butte County. School kits are being provided to K-8 students for $11 each, and to high school students for $28 each. Since almost all of the schools in the Camp Fire area were destroyed or heavily damaged, all of the students from K-12 are being enrolled in surviving schools throughout the county.

PLEASE donate now to:

  1. Ridge Kids Christmas:

Every year in Magalia, CA, is the Ridge Kids Christmas, where gifts are given to underprivileged  children in the community.  Santa arrives to hand out presents, and this year gifts are especially needed!  A wish list has been created on Amazon, where you can purchase gifts that have been requested by the children. There are still many items needed; please help make their dreams come true this holiday season!

We hope our Sequoia Community will be able to reach out and assist those in need this month.  Thank you so much for all of your help, and may you be blessed this holiday season!!
