Mrs. Joukoff’s Retirement Party – 11/19

Calling all Sequoia Elementary Alumni, Parents, Teachers, and Friends – We Need You!

It’s time to celebrate one of Pleasant Hill’s most treasured teachers, Mrs. Beverly Joukoff. After 44 years of teaching – 23 years in MDUSD, and 17 years at Sequoia Elementary – Mrs. Joukoff is retiring, and we’re sending her off in style.

To celebrate her extraordinary career, please mark your calendars:

  • Date: Tuesday, November 19, 2019
  • Place: Sequoia Elementary MUR
  • Time: 3:15 pm

The Mt. Diablo Unified School District, in partnership with the teachers, colleagues, and parents of Sequoia Elementary, invite all present and past students of Mrs. Joukoff and their families to stop by, share some stories, and wish her a very happy retirement.  Everyone is welcome, and light refreshments will be served.

Since her early days working in Richmond at Dover Elementary, Mrs. Joukoff has always strived to create transdisciplinary and collaborative teaching in her classroom. Working to inculcate critical thinking in all of her students, Mrs. Joukoff worked diligently to instill an inner drive so they believe anything is possible. As a stellar member of the Mt. Diablo Unified School District community, she was recognized as MDUSD Teacher of the Year in 2014 for Sequoia Elementary, awarded the District’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016, and nominated for Educator of the Year in 2017 for the City of Pleasant Hill. Mrs. Joukoff devoted her teaching career to helping students and continually encouraged them to be lifelong learners.

If you’re a past student, a colleague, a friend, or a fan, please stop by on Tuesday, November 19, and help us celebrate one of the best teachers we have been fortunate to know!
