Sequoia Elementary School is an International Baccalaureate (IB) Candidate School.
Sequoia Elementary Vision Statement
At Sequoia Elementary we are engaged learners. We celebrate our diversity and the diversity of the world around us as we work together to learn and grow.
Sequoia Elementary Mission Statement
The mission of Sequoia Elementary is to develop compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that they are part of a global community. Students become critical thinkers through an emphasis on foundational skills, collaboration, and inquiry. This is accomplished through a mutually supportive partnership of parents, faculty, and administration that provide a safe, respectful, and joyful learning environment that honors individual differences.
We want to share with you the “IB Parent Pack” from the IB’s “digital toolkit.” This packet includes information about IB and the Primary Years Program (elementary school level).
The digital toolkit can be found online here: https://www.ibo.org/digital-toolkit/brochures-flyers-and-posters
You will see a “General Materials” section, which is a great place to start, as well as a section right below that one called “PYP Materials” — PYP stands for “Primary Years Program,” which is what Sequoia will become, so this section has more specific info about the IB program at the elementary school level.
